It's an alright day, this recent year I've taken my aspirations of becoming a professional voice actor to a serious level. Having taken a voice acting workshop with ADR producer/voice actor Tony Oliver and getting very high praise, along with a separate encounter with Chris Patton has fueled my will to want to do voice over work on a professional and most importantly PAID level. My first attempt in which I'm putting what little money I have into is making my way to an audition being had by an up and coming multimedia company whom are holding voice over talent audition in a nearby convention. I figured this was a safer first attempt at getting a semi stable first job as a voice actor, opposed to flying over to California and staying in an animal shelter till I get a job. I'll know whether or not I'm good enough to work professionally at the end of this month, wish me luck!
On a more personal note, I had the opportunity to attend the midnight showing of Watchmen with two of my friends. Now before I say anything, I want to make it clear that I've got pretty different taste in movies. Super Mario Bros., Who Framed Roger Rabbit and, Stranger Than Fiction to name a few. I'm also very squeamish, uneasy about violence and pretty uncomfortable watching sex scenes in a quite crowded movie theater. Anywho, I thought the move was very, VERY good. I hadn't had the privileged to read the comic series but my friends tell me it's surprisingly faithful to the comic in it's execution and that in itself deserves an applause.
Though I'd be lying if I said that the movie itself was the only reason why I mustered the energy to venture out have passed eleven at night to make the midnight showing. The new Star Trek film trailer was coupled with the others which were shown at the beginning of the film. It was oh so stellar! Me and another gentlemen whom I never identified whooped loudly at the end, with a loud rebuttal of "NERDS!" from the back. However I've been called as such so many times I've considered it a badge I wear proudly. After all, why hide the things I like? After in which my friends and I retired to a hang out spot. Namely my friend's girlfriend's place. We hung out talked, briefly got into a debate about the Star Trek film and ended up leaving them for the night, seeing as how they were getting oh so smoochy and sleepy.
Bah, it's times like these that I really wish I had a person to call my own..
Anyways other than that it's been okay so far. I may or may not draw a bit later this morning, I'll see.
Thanks for reading! And remember if life gets you down, throw it into God Mode and keep kicking butt!
